OPEN STORAGE SOLUTIONS® ACHIEVES QLOGIC SIGNATURE VAR STATUS
Open Storage Solutions is the first and only Qlogic Canadian Signature VAR.
BRAMPTON, ON June 1, 2004 - Open Storage Solutions® Inc, a leading data storage system integrator, has been awarded Qlogic's Signature VAR status. This follows an intensive training program and positions Open Storage Solutions as the first and only Qlogic Signature VAR in Canada. This status allows Open Storage Solutions to sell, service and support Qlogic switches and host-bus adapters (HBAs) throughout North America through their sales and service offices in the US and Canada.
The Signature VAR training program developed by QLogic, is designed to give select resellers the tools they need to effectively sell and support QLogic products to their customers. A key aspect of the training is that the SAN training is presented in a vendor-neutral way. The intensive, three-day Technical Professional Certification course, with hands-on training of Fibre Channel technology uses real-world fibre channel and iSCSI SAN examples. All aspects of Qlogic products, including installation, configuration and management, are covered in a lab environment; and many of the technical situations are gleaned from Qlogic's Call Center. It is believed that Qlogic is the first vendor in the SAN market to provide this level of certification training. The goal is to deliver technology-agnostic training on Qlogic's HBAs and switches, which is both practical and relevant, and allows us to help customers understand SANs and how value can be added to their organizations.
