Secured Site Process

Dear (Customer),

Open Storage Solutions (OSS) Customer Service Operations has a program to allow you to return Seagate disc drive units, purchased from OSS, and coming from a secured environment for repair/exchange.

This program has been set up to enable our customers from a secured site to return defective products without compromising their integrity. To return units, contact Open Storage Solutions Customer Service 1 (800) 387-3419 and request a return material authorization (RMA) number. Specify that the defective product is being returned from a secured site.

The following information will be required.

  • Nine digit part number

  • Serial number

  • Quantity

  • Purchase order number

Prior to returning the defective product to Open Storage Solutions , the drive data should be invalidated per the customers secured site policy.

Customers may select from the following return options:

  • Return the entire product following drive data invalidation, or

  • Return only the PCB module and top cover (includes the serial number label)

Open Storage Solutions will ship a replacement product per the standard warranty policy. For secured site processing on out of warranty products, standard out of warranty repair pricing will apply. If you have any questions, please contact your Open Storage Solutions Representative.
