Our latest, and fourth Generation SAS/SATA based storage system, builds on the success of the F5400 series. This release has many enhancements, both in pure performance and also in configuration flexibility. An example is the introduction of end to end active/active internal connections for SATA drives, normally a single ported technology, which provides both an improved level of configuration flexibility and optimum internal drive connection rates.
Both SATA II and SAS drives are supported so that you can match your performance and capacity requirements by choosing multiple, application matched, RAID sets. Configure your intensive I/O applications utilizing enterprise class, performance optimized, SAS drives. For your less demanding , near line applications such as Disc to Disc backup, configure storage with capacity optimized SATA drives. All this in one storage subsystem, delivering the advantages and flexibility of tiered storage.
A new higher performance SAS chip set and significantly faster CPU is added to the RAID controllers to fully utilize the available 4Gbyte host connectivity.
Install a single RAID controller system, or a dual, active/active RAID controller Omega F6412, in the middle of your SAN and see your connectivity options grow. The F6412 supports 12 drives per shelf and scales to 96TB in 12TB ‘pay as you grow’ increments, making this modular RAID system fit easily within today’s IT budgets. Best of all the F6412 is extremely cost effective and is an ideal solution for applications that demand superior performance and reliability.
