DATA BACKUP AND RECOVERY SOLUTIONS FOR THE SMALL BUSINESS, THE ENTERPRISE, AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN.
Your company is large-an enterprise. Your company is small-a satellite office. You have terabytes of data. You have gigabytes of data. You use disk. You use tape.
No matter what your data storage scenario, you have two things in common with every other IT manager in the world:
It all begins with the Overland Storage REO family of data backup and recovery appliances. Offering high-speed performance, high capacity and flexible connectivity, REO products not only increase your data availability, but come with broad platform support and the power of the newest technology from Overland Storage- Overland Storage SolutionPACs-software that adds valuable functionality, flexibility and security to your data backup and recovery.

“The REO is fantastic, almost too good to be true. It's all it claims to be and more—an easyto- manage, versatile, fast and efficient data protection appliance that provides peace of mind.”
The Overland Storage REO 1500 with
Protection OS is a cost-effective,
easy-to-use, low-profile disk-based
backup and recovery appliance
designed to meet the data backup
needs of small business or branch
office users who require higher data
capacity for unattended backups,
near-instantaneous file restore
needed for rapid file recoveries
and increased data protection
at a price point that fits within
The REO 1500 utilizes high-capacity
SATA disk drives, Gigabit Ethernet
(iSCSI) connectivity and Overland's
The REO 4500 series, with Protection OS, is
the ideal choice for mid-size storage
managers who have larger data
capacity requirements, want diskspeed
data recovery, a cure for
out-of-control backup windows
and a method for improving the
reliability of backup operations.
A shared storage resource that improves the speed and efficiency of existing tape-based backup environments, the REO 4500 is capable of storing up to 7.5 TB of data per chassis and is expandable to 22.5 TB. The REO 4500c, which includes compression, can provide up to 45TB useable virtual tape capacity.
Both models use RAID 5 disk storage to increase backup reliability while providing near instantaneous recovery of files. Like the REO 1500, the REO 4500 has the added flexibility of Protection OS software, and support for iSCSI connectivity.
Unlike the REO 1500, the REO 4500 supports Fibre Channel connections as well— making it an even more versatile backup and recovery appliance.
In addition, the REO 4500 works with existing backup applications that support tape devices, providing a single backup catalog and a single media management system. This seamless compatibility allows for easy deployment and integration into existing backup environments. As a result, REO 4500 users can quickly achieve rapid recovery of backup data from disk while continuing to rely on tape for long term archival storage.
Much like the REO 4500, the REO 9100 with Protection OS was created for storage managers who want disk-speed data recovery, shorter backup windows and improved reliability of backup operations. But unlike the mid-size REO 4500, the REO 9100 scales to meet the needs of datacenters with rapidly increasing requirements for disk-based backup capacity.
A shared-storage resource that improves the speed and efficiency of existing tape-based backup environments, the REO 9100 is capable of storing up to 9.6 TB of data per chassis and is expandable to 51 TB (66 Tb Native).
Like the REO 4500, it uses RAID 5 disk storage, has support for both iSCSI and Fibre Channel connections, works with existing backup applications that were designed to support tape devices, and takes advantage of Protection OS software.
